Dig into our large selection of healthy and hearty whole grains, beans, seeds, nuts, fruits, oils, vinegars and sweeteners as well as an amazing selection of granolas, trail mixes, and other snacks.
Every day, in our aisles, you'll find products that represent GreenStar's commitment to protecting the environment and workers' rights. Most of our products are organic (some conventional equivalents are also available) and Fair Trade Certified coffee, chocolate and sweeteners also abound. Of course we are always on the lookout for new Fair Trade products and will stock them as soon as they become available. We also offer many locally produced, organic products such as beans, grains and seeds from Cayuga Pure Organics; maple syrup from Wards Maple; honey from Rowland's Honey; and tofu from Ithaca Soy (made from local, organic soybeans, too!) just to name a few. We also carry many products to support wheat-free, gluten-free and dairy-free diets that may be hard to find elsewhere.
Our friendly and knowledgeable Bulk Department staff has many years of natural food experience and is always available to answer your questions, or help with your specific needs, whatever they may be.
The Bulk Department enjoys support from a large crew of member-workers that help to keep us stocked, in exchange for a healthy discount at the checkout lanes. Some of our member-workers have worked in the Department for over a decade!
Whether you're looking for some basic organic staples to cook dinner at home or for a potluck or some decadent, organic, Fair Trade treat for your sweetie, you'll find it right here, in Bulkville!

Organic raw cashew splits come to you via the Aprainores co-op in El Salvador, grown and processed by true survivors.
I want to shine the light on a product in our department that comes to us from people who have had to endure more hard times than most in this world. Our organic raw cashew splits are brought to us by the Aprainores cashew co-op in El Salvador. The 55 members of this co-op were given small parcels of land along the southern coast of El Salvador through a land-transfer program established in the 1992 Peace Accords. Prior to the war, the 175-acre cashew farm was the property of one foreign landowner. Grown on a protected mangrove estuary and processed by local women who literally hand-craft each individual nut, these cashews are the best I've ever tasted. In the words of Oscar Valladares, former President of the Aprainores cooperative, "During the war, my comandante told me that we were fighting for a house, a piece of land, and a business. Today, I have a house; some land; we co-own our business; and, my comandante ... is President!"
