Our customers are some of the best people in town! You’ll have the opportunity to serve your community daily.
We give back. As a co-op, we focus on more than just making a profit andwork to make a difference in our community. Each year we contribute to numerous community groups, schools, and local events through volunteering, fundraising, or making donations.
We love local. A strong local economy builds community, and we support this by carrying more local items than any other store in Ithaca. In fact, 59¢ of every customer dollar stays local and goes toward paying our staff, farmers, and producers.
Community-Owned, Everyone Welcome.
We’re not your average grocery store — we are a food co-op with the goal of providing the best shopping experience in Ithaca. We value local farmers and producers, community, health, the environment, and social justice, and we consider the impact of the choices we make on the things that we value.
GreenStar, in alliance with other co-ops, attempts to build an alternative social and economic structure based on open membership, cooperation, democratic community control, not-for-profit operation, and ethical responsibility.
We are committed to being inclusive and free of discrimination. We seek out and welcome people from diverse communities to participate in a community-owned cooperative business structure. We are an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
