Co-op Principle #2: Democratic Member Control
Cooperatives are democratic organizations controlled by their members—those who buy the goods or use the services of the cooperative—who actively participate in setting policies and making decisions.
Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Co-op
One of the most important benefits of being a member-owner is electing your Co-op’s Board of Directors, or GreenStar’s Council. Members of Council work closely with our General Manager to decide on the long-term vision of our Co-op and participating in Council elections is a way that you can help to shape that vision.
When? Voting Takes Place from June 1 – 30
If you’re signed up for electronic voting you will receive your ballot and Spring Member Mailing via email. If you have not signed up for electronic voting, you will receive the Spring Member Mailing by mail. Extra copies will be available at our stores. Completed paper ballots should be put in an envelope (available at our stores) and put in the ballot boxes at any of our locations.
