A Note from GreenStar: NAMI Finger Lakes was selected by GreenStar members to be among our twelve 2026 Partners for Change. Please Round Up your purchase at the Co-op to support their work!

At NAMI Finger Lakes, we believe that strong, healthy communities are built through connection, compassion, and access to support. That’s why we are deeply grateful to have been selected by GreenStar Cooperative members as a Partners for Change recipient. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to community well-being — both mental and physical — and helps ensure families in our region are not navigating mental health challenges alone.

NAMI Finger Lakes is the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization. We provide free education programs, support groups, and community outreach for individuals and families with loved ones living with a mental health condition. Our programs are evidence-based, peer-led, and grounded in lived experience — ensuring that participants feel understood, respected, and supported.

Mental health challenges affect people from every walk of life. In our community, families often come to us feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure of where to turn. Through programs such as the NAMI Family-to-Family education course, our peer-led support groups, and youth initiatives like NAMI Ending the Silence, NAMI Finger Lakes creates safe, stigma-free spaces where people can share openly, learn practical tools, and find hope.

Being part of GreenStar’s Partners for Change program directly strengthens this work. With support from GreenStar members, we are able to expand access to our programs, reach individuals earlier, and respond to the growing demand for mental health education and support.

GreenStar has long been a champion of holistic wellness, sustainability, and community care. By investing in local mental health resources, GreenStar demonstrates that nourishing a community means caring for both body and mind. We are honored to be part of a network of organizations that reflect the co-op’s values of mutual aid, shared responsibility, and community resilience.

Most importantly, this partnership helps real people right here in our local community. It helps a parent feel less alone while supporting a child with a mental health condition. It helps a spouse learn how to set healthy boundaries while maintaining compassion. It helps a young person recognize the signs of mental illness and understand that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to GreenStar Cooperative and its members for choosing to support NAMI Finger Lakes through the Partners for Change program. Your commitment makes a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families across our region, and helps move us closer to a community where mental health is understood, supported, and prioritized.
