GreenStar Council News for March 2023
Save the Date: June 25, 2023 for our 50-ish Anniversary Celebration!
I am very excited to share that we are planning a celebration of GreenStar’s 50th anniversary in June, which actually marks our 52nd year. Our 50-ish celebration will kick-off with a celebration at our West End location on Sunday, June 25th, from 1 – 5pm. Come meet fellow cooperators for tastings and samplings, cooking demos, live music, kids’ activities, and more!
Highlights from the March Council Meeting
At its March regular meeting, Council listened to a presentation from the Ithaca Public Education Initiative, GreenStar’s February Partners for Change recipient, and received the General Manager’s monthly report.
Council also approved policy amendments and proposals, including:
- Approved the February 2023 Council Meeting Minutes
- Approved the D.0-D.5 Policy Monitoring Proposal
- Approved the Policy B.0 – Global GM Constraint Monitoring Proposal and Report
- Approved the Policy B.10 – Product Line Monitoring Proposal and Report
Additionally, Council reviewed the following new business items:
- Reviewed the Policy B.1 – Financial Conditions Monitoring Report for 4th Quarter 2022
- Reviewed the Policy B.2 – Planning and Budgeting Monitoring Report
- Reviewed the Draft Proposal: Amend Policy C.8 Council Investments and Stipends
- Reviewed the updated Bylaws Refresh Project Scope and Timeline

Come early for pre-meeting engagement with Council!
From 6:15 – 6:30 PM GreenStar members are invited to join Council members for an opportunity to engage in conversation. This 15 minute period is an “open-mic” format and will be recurring – taking place ahead of the GreenStar Council meeting every second Tuesday of the month.
